WATCH: Animal Kingdom’s Adorable Malayan Great Argus Pheasant Chicks Arrive in Their New Home
Earlier this year, we brought you the exciting news that adorable Malayan great argus pheasant chicks had been born at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
The last time we checked in, the baby birds were closely following their mother around the aviary on the Maharajah Jungle Trek. At the time, however, Dr. Mark Penning informed us that the birds would quickly grow independent and begin to explore.
Well, three months after we last got an update on the pheasant chicks, Dr. Penning once again took to Instagram to share the latest news.
The Pheasants Have Been Moved to a New Environment
As it turns out, the pheasant chicks have left their nest and been relocated to the Maharajah Jungle Trek’s flying foxes exhibit.
They grow up so fast!
According to Dr. Penning, the move was made to allow the young birds to have more room to grow, explore, and flap their feathers.
“Next time you’re on Maharajah Jungle Trek, keep your eyes open. You might just spot them strutting their stuff in their new home!” he teased.
In a short video accompanying Dr. Penning’s post, Disney wildlife experts release the pheasants into their new environment.
After receiving their own identification bands, the birds were brought to their new home.
