‘Thunderbolts*’ Holds Strong at the Box Office
For the second weekend in a row, Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts* reigned supreme at the box office, adding another $35 million to its domestic total.
The latest installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), Thunderbolts* introduces audiences to a new kind of super team. Unlike the largely clean-cut Avengers, the Thunderbolts are comprised of former villains and antiheroes.

Under the watchful eye of Valentina Allegra de Fontaine (Julia Louis Dreyfus), the MCU’s Thunderbolts brings together Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh), Red Guardian (David Harbour), Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen), the Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan), Taskmaster (Olga Kurylenko), and U.S. Agent (Wyatt Russell).
A Strong Second Weekend
Ten days after hitting theaters, the latest Marvel blockbuster has earned $128.5 million in North America and $143 million overseas, for a global cume of $272.2 million.

According to Deadline, the film’s top international markets have been the UK ($15.5 million), China ($13.8 million), Mexico ($11.2 million), France ($7.2 million), and Australia ($6.4 million).
Reviews of ‘Thunderbolts’ Have Been Glowing’
Unlike other recent Marvel releases, including Captain America: Brave New World, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, and The Marvels, Thunderbolts* managed to hold strong in its second weekend in theaters, dropping only 55% week over week.

That number is better than the average 57% drop that the front-loaded Marvel films usually incur, and is far more in line with wildly successful Deadpool & Wolverine (-54.2%) than Captain America: Brave New World (-65%)
Currently, strong critical reviews and sparkling audience scores are propelling Thunderbolts* forward. Marvel hopes the strong word-of-mouth will facilitate an extended box office run.
