PHOTOS: Work Continues Across Disney’s Hollywood Studios as Cool Kid Summer Looms
If you have been reading along here at MickeyBlog, you know that things are about to heat up at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, with the launch of Cool Kid Summer.
To ensure families have the best Disney World vacation possible this summer, the resort is rolling out new experiences across its parks and resorts.
The Hub of the Celebration Will be Disney’s Hollywood Studios
At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the epicenter of the celebration will be Animation Courtyard. There, Disney is set to debut games and crafts that will keep kids moving and creating all day long. Numerous Disney characters are even set to get in on the fun.
There will also be a new Disney Jr. dance party featuring Mickey Mouse and many of his friends.
Finally, to coincide with the launch of Cool Kid Summer, both Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After and The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure are set to open!

With less than three weeks to go until Cool Kid Summer kicks off, we headed to Disney’s Hollywood Studios to check things out.
The Latest From Animation Courtyard
Over in the Animation Courtyard, the Disney Junior meet-and-greet is currently blocked off as Disney prepares the area for the new festivities.
Eventually, the courtyard will host interactive activities and feature many Disney characters.
The future site of The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure is also currently blocked off.
There have been no noticeable changes to the building’s exterior.
Work Continues at Sunset Showcase
Moving over to Sunset Boulevard, Disney is continuing to prepare Sunset Showcase for the arrival of Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After.
The former area of the Lightning McQueen’s Racing Academy sign has been repainted.
Additionally, the pinstriped walls have been painted over to match the rest of the building.

The Fun Kicks Off on May 27
With Cool Kid Summer set to officially kick off on May 27, it won’t be long until Hollywood Studios is bursting with new attractions, experiences, and fun.
