California Legislature Honors Kermit the Frog with an Official Proclamation
Congratulations, Kermit the Frog! This year marks the 70th Anniversary of the television debut of Kermit the Frog and The Muppets.
What better way to celebrate than to be honored for your hard work and contributions!

Today, in honor of the 70th anniversary of the television debut, the California Legislature has honored Kermit with an official proclamation from the State of California.
Recognition
The honor was presented by Assembly Member Nick Schultz of California’s 44th Assembly District.

The proclamation celebrates the sharing of this “beloved and iconic character with audiences around the world, who have been educated, entertained, and touched by the unique and engaging personality Kermit presents to his innumerable fans.”

Kermit shared that he was excited and honored to receive the recognition and when asked how he was going to spend his speecial day, he wanted to share it with all of the other Muppets.
He then encouraged everyone to do something nice for someone special or a friend. Happy birthday, and have a great day celebrating.
