9 Disney World Rides for When You Just Need a Break
Disney World is filled with a bunch of fun and excitement, but sometimes, you just need a break — it can get to be a bit overwhelming! Especially on those days when the parks are packed, 100 degrees, and your family is driving you up the wall…we totally understand the need to hit the pause button.

Magic Kingdom
Luckily, there are a handful of attractions perfect for a break! I’m talking about rides that are more slow-paced and relatively relaxing.
These rides don’t require a lot of effort from guests in terms of getting in or out of the ride vehicle, and they aren’t super loud or disruptive. So, let’s break it down!
The Best Rides To Take a Break On in Disney World
Magic Kingdom
Under the Sea – Journey of The Little Mermaid
First up, we have Under the Sea – Journey of The Little Mermaid in Fantasyland! This is a slow-paced, Omnimover ride where the vehicles are continuously moving on a track.
You sit in a giant clam shell and go through Ariel’s journey! It’s definitely a bit boisterous, but it’s a great place to just chill out and hear some of your favorite music from the movie.
Peter Pan’s Flight
Peter Pan’s Flight is also in Fantasyland and is a fan favorite! I’d recommend this as a ride for a break if there line is relatively short or if you have a Lightning Lane for it, since waiting in a super long line isn’t very relaxing (although the queue is very cool!).

Peter Pan’s Flight
It’s a dark ride where you get inside of a pirate ship and fly over London then travel to Neverland with Peter Pan and friends. Something about that aerial view of London at night just makes me super content!
Haunted Mansion
Okay, so the spookiness of this ride might not be relaxing for everyone, but it’s super dark and slow and air conditioned, so it counts in my book! And, if you’re a big Halloween fan like me, the spookiness can actually be comforting.

Haunted Mansion
This is another Omnimover ride and it’s over in Liberty Square. I love popping on here when it’s not busy just to get out of the heat and crowds!
Pirates of the Caribbean
Pirates of the Caribbean is in Adventureland and is a classic Disney boat ride. This does have one small drop that wouldn’t be considered relaxing, but the rest of the ride is super slow and chill, where you’ll just be taking in the scenes of a bunch of rowdy pirates!
It’s also pretty dark and the temperature is usually low in here due to the water, so I recommend it especially for those who love the smell of the water rides at Disney.
Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover
The ultimate relaxing ride in Disney World has got to be the PeopleMover! It does go outside for certain sections, but you get a nice breeze from the movement of the vehicle and there are super long stretches where you’re in the darkness and can just sit back and decompress.
Plus, you get a unique view of the other attractions in Tomorrowland, which is always fun!
EPCOT
Living with the Land
How could we talk about relaxing rides without mentioning Living with the Land?! This is in The Land Pavilion in EPCOT’s World Nature and is a super slow moving boat ride that takes you on a tour of the greenhouses and more where Disney grows a bunch of food for the parks!
If you want the perfect mix of a slow, relaxing ride with some fun facts about crops and fish, this is the ride for you.
The Seas with Nemo & Friends
The Seas with Nemo & Friends is in The Seas Pavilion in World Nature and is another Omnimover ride where you get to sit in a clam shell! It takes you on a journey with Nemo and his friends under the sea and there are some truly gorgeous scenes that you ride through.

The Seas with Nemo and Friends
You also get to see inside of the actual aquarium and look at real sea creatures! Plus, the ride ends inside of the aquarium so the relaxing journey can continue for you.
Spaceship Earth
Spaceship Earth is in World Celebration inside of the iconic EPCOT ball. This is a slow moving dark ride that takes you on a journey through time to explore the history of human communication from the Stone Age to the computer age.

Spaceship Earth
The ride is narrated by Dame Judi Dench and ends with a sparkly display of lights that could lull you into a nice little nap!
Animal Kingdom
Na’vi River Journey
Finally, we have Na’vi River Journey in Animal Kingdom’s Pandora — The World of Avatar. This is a slow moving boat ride that’s dark and filled with dazzling creatures and bioluminescent plants from Pandora. It ends with a truly stunning animatronic!
