Ralph Ineson Wins “Substantial” Compensation From Disney After ‘Willow’ Injury
Ralph Ineson has won his lawsuit against The Walt Disney Company after he suffered an injury while shooting the Disney+ series Willow.
The incident in question occurred on the set in July 2021. Ineson, who portrayed Ballantine in the series, was dressed as a knight in armour and doing battle with a large ogre named The Scourage.
During the action sequence, Ineson reportedly slipped on foam gravel, tripped on a step, and fell awkwardly, dislocating his shoulder.
Ineson Sued Disney in 2023
The esteemed British actor subsequently sued Disney in 2023 for £150,000 ($190,500), claiming that his injury occurred while producers were pressuring Willow‘s cast and crew to finish filming by deadline.
This pressure, the suit continued, led to the foam gravel not being adequately cleaned and the step that Ineson tripped over to be obscured.

Due to his injured shoulder, Ineson revealed that he could no longer take physical acting roles, especially those involving fighting or horseback riding.
The Actor Has Received Compensation
Yesterday, Ineson was rewarded with “substantial ” compensation for the injury. While it is unclear if he received the full amount that he was suing for, the actor is reportedly happy with the settlement.
Interestingly, while the lawsuit was playing out, Ineson was cast as Galactus in Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps. In the lead-up to the film’s release, he has made his excitement clear.
