‘Snow White’ Gets a Digital Release Date Just Months After Its Disastrous Theatrical Run
After a triumphant 2023 that saw a series of massive releases, including Deadpool & Wolverine, Inside Out 2, and Moana 2, Disney returned to theaters earlier this year with its live-action remake of Snow White.
A modern retelling of the beloved Disney animated film, Snow White stars Rachel Zegler, Gal Gadot, and Andrew Burnap.

“In the heart of a dark forest, the lovely young princess Snow White seeks sanctuary in a quaint cottage belonging to seven dwarfs, escaping the wrath of her envious stepmother, the wicked Queen,” the film’s synopsis reads.
A Box Office Bomb
Released amid a myriad of controversies, Snow White was both a box office and public relations disaster for Disney. By the time the dust had settled on the film’s theatrical run, Disney had lost over $130 million.

While that number is obviously dreadful, there are still ways that Disney can recoup some of their losses, starting with a digital release of the film.
‘Snow White’ Gets Digital and Physical Release Dates
Today, Disney announced that Snow White will be available to purchase on digital platforms beginning May 13. Additionally, the film will come to 4K Ultra HD, Blu-Ray, and DVD on June 24.

As with other recent Disney digital releases, Snow White will come with exclusive bonus content including bloopers, deleted scenes, featurettes, and a full-length sing-along.
What About Disney+?
At the time of this writing, Disney has not announced when Snow White will land on Disney+. As the studio lost tens of millions of dollars on the film’s theatrical run, however, they will likely want to give Snow White an extended digital window.
