New Details Inside The Beak and Barrel Tavern at Magic Kingdom
Get ready to raise a glass, Disney fans — there’s a new pirate tavern coming! The Beak and Barrel is the newest addition coming to Magic Kingdom and fans are ready.
The tavern officially opens later this year, bringing swashbuckling fun, adventures, and themed drinks to guests of all ages.
Founded by the legendary pirate rumrunner Captain Meridian “Merry” Goldwyn and her colorful first mate Rummy, this immersive tavern brings a fun taste of pirate life to Disney World.
Meet Rummy
Rummy, the tavern’s retired and dutiful crewman, keeps watch from his perch high above the bar.
If he seems familiar, you are right! Fans may recognize this tribute to the original Barker Bird, who once greeted visitors outside Pirates of the Caribbean.
Though he’s retired from life at sea, Rummy is always ready to lead a toast or share a tale.
Inside the Tavern
The main hall, fittingly called The Mess, is the largest and main space! It was once a Spanish soldiers’ mess hall and now hosts long tables where pirates gather to eat, drink, and share stories.
An enormous anchor hangs overhead, while the grand bar — made from a cursed shipwreck — holds pirate brews and delicious concoctions from the Enchanted Rum Bottle.
In the Captains’ Quarters, guests discover once-elegant living spaces, now marked by pirate blades and burn marks.
Above the fireplace, five miniature ships in glass bottles symbolize past pirate alliances—and rumor has it, they occasionally come to life in a magical battle.
