Disney Jr. Play and Dance! Will Close This Month as Disney Prepares For Cool Kid Summer

If you plan on visiting Walt Disney World this summer, the resort has some extra magic in store for you.

Earlier this year, Disney announced that two new shows will debut at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Disney Starlight: Dream the Night Away will premiere at Magic Kingdom, and Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon will open simultaneously.

Then, this morning, Disney World announced even more exciting special activities, including GoofyCore at EPCOT, new crafts at Rafiki’s Planet Watch, and a Big Top Bash at Storybook Circus!

New Festivities at Animation Courtyard

At Disney’s Hollywood Studios, the Animation Courtyard will host all kinds of festivities, including magicians, jump rope performers, and surprise character announcements.

Get Animated is coming to Disney’s Hollywood Studios this summer.

Additionally, Mickey and his Disney Junior friends will be hosting a “lively indoor DJ dance party” called Get Animated.

To facilitate the arrival of Get Animated, Disney Jr. Play and Dance! will be temporarily closing.

The fan-favorite children’s attraction will cease performances beginning May 25.

Get Animated will then debut two days later on May 27.

When Will the Show Reopen?

With Cool Kid Summer continuing through September 1, it looks like Disney Jr. Play and Dance! will remain closed through at least August. When exactly the attraction will reopen, however, has yet to be revealed.
