The FAA Is Predicting a Busy Summer Travel Season

With temperatures across the country warming up, Easter in the rearview mirror, and May on the horizon, summer will be here before we know it!

As we have previously noted, this summer will be a great time to visit Walt Disney World. New attractions are set to debut, additional perks are being added for hotel guests, and both Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon will open simultaneously.

The FAA’s Summer Forecast

The FAA’s Air Traffic Organization recently held its summer summit, during which it discussed its plans for the busy summer season.

According to the organization, summer flight schedules are up 4 percent compared to last year. Looking ahead, the FAA predicts that there will be more than 50,000 total flights in the sky in many months.

To keep the aircraft moving safely, the organization plans to use alternate routes and altitudes to reduce constrained areas and even work wtih the military to use special use airspace during the busy traffic period.
