UPDATE: The Frontierland and Adventureland Breezeway Signs Have Returned
Earlier this year, Disney raised eyebrows when it removed the Frontierland and Adventureland entrance signs from the archway near Pirates of the Caribbean at Magic Kingdom.
In a normal environment, the news would not have been overly noteworthy. After all, Disney removes signs and props all the time for routine maintenance.

Between the debut of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, the return of the Country Bear Musical Jamboree, and the closure of the Frontierland Shootin’ Arcade, 2024 marked a period of transformation for Frontierland.
That momentum carried into early 2025, when Big Thunder Mountain Railroad closed on January 6 for what’s expected to be a year-long refurbishment. With the planned demolition of Tom Sawyer Island and the Rivers of America, the Old West-themed land that’s been a cornerstone of the Magic Kingdom for over 50 years is on the verge of becoming nearly unrecognizable.

When the Frontierland and Adventureland signs were removed, then, many questioned if a name change was possibly in the works for Frontierland.
The Signs Have Returned!
Well, I am happy to report that our long national nightmare is over, and the signs have returned.

Frontierland
As you can see, the new signs look amazing!
Once again, one side of the sign reads “Passage to Frontierland.”

Frontierland
The other side simply reads “Adventureland.”

Adventureland
Both signs look great and are appropriately themed for their respective lands.

Adventureland
Despite conjecture to the contrary, the Frontierland name seems to be here to stay, at least for now.
