Top 5 Outdoor Disney Attractions to Enjoy in the Spring
Spring at Walt Disney World is one of the best times of the year. Great weather, blooming gardens, and sunny days make it the perfect time to visit.
If you’re lucky enough to be visiting Walt Disney World this Spring, don’t miss the chance to experience some of Walt Disney World’s best outdoor attractions.
From animal encounters to tranquil boat rides, read on for five unforgettable attractions that take advantage of the springtime vibes and weather.
Kilimanjaro Safaris – Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Grab the family and hop aboard a safari truck to journey through the lush Harambe Wildlife Reserve.
Your tour includes a behind-the-scenes look at giraffes, elephants, rhinos, lions, and more. Spring is a great time to see these exotic animals in their environment.

This outdoor experience is a must-do and feels like a real African adventure! It is incredibly vibrant in the Spring when animals are more active in the milder morning temperatures.
MickeyBlog Tip:
Go early in the day or at sunset for the best animal activity and cooler weather.
Kali River Rapids – Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Enjoy the springtime sun and get soaking wet on this whitewater adventure. It’s also one of my favorite ways to cool off!

Kali River Rapids
Located in Asia in Animal Kingdom, this thrill ride takes you through the jungles of Asia and features small drops, geysers, jetting water, rapids, and waterfalls.
If you’re looking for a wild and wet ride, this is a must-do. You are guaranteed to leave soaked!

MickeyBlog Tip: Use the free lockers (across from the entrance to Kali River Rapids) to secure your personal items! You’re likely to get completely drenched, so take advantage of the complimentary lockers.
Jungle Cruise – Magic Kingdom
This is the ultimate outdoor Disney ride! For a classic Disney ride with a wild twist, Jungle Cruise delivers plenty of dry humor, laughs, and great outdoor scenery.
Take a ride on this local cruise and enjoy a scenic and comedic boat tour of exotic rivers across Asia, Africa, and South America.
With its tropical landscaping (and groan-worthy puns), this outdoor boat ride is especially fun in the Spring when flowers and foliage are at their peak. The waterfalls and light spray from the river offer a quick way to cool off when spring weather gets hot.
MickeyBlog Tip:
This ride draws crowds quickly! To beat the heat and the lines, try riding early in the morning.
Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover – Magic Kingdom

This ride is always my Magic Kingdom go-to! Soar above Tomorrowland on this breezy (and underrated) experience.

Astro Orbiter
The PeopleMover offers shade, a great breeze, and some of the best park views. Relax and unwind while getting a glimpse of “tomorrow” and views of Cinderella Castle, Tomorrowland, and Space Mountain.
The best part? You don’t typically have to wait long to ride!

MickeyBlog Tip:
Save this attraction when you need a recharge! It’s the perfect option when it’s hot, rainy, or you just need to get away from the crowds.
Tom Sawyer Island – Magic Kingdom
Guests often forget about this experience in Frontierland, but it’s a perfect outdoor adventure in Spring!

This quiet, hidden gem is accessible by log raft and features shady trails, caves, bridges, and an old frontier fort inspired by Mark Twain’s stories.
It’s a great way to be outside and enjoy nature, let the kids explore, and escape the spring crowds for a while.
