One ‘Star Wars’ Director Wants to See Macu Windu Return
20 years after Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith hit theaters, one of the film’s principal stars may be plotting a return to a galaxy far, far away.
For two decades now, Samuel L. Jackson has told anyone who would listen that his purple-wielding Jedi, Mace Windu, was not killed when Emperor Palpatine launched him out the window into the Courscount sky.
As the Jedi’s death was not shown on screen, both Jackson and fans have held out hope that he somehow survived.

Now, if one Star Wars director gets her way, we will learn more of Mace Windu’s story.
Dallas Bryce Howard Wants Answers
During a recent appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Dallas Bryce Howard was asked about working with Jackson in Argylle. After commenting on how supportive her co-star was, Howard revealed that Jackson said he would act in something she directed.

As Howard has long been a prominent Star Wars director, she immediately thought of Mace Windu.
“[I] went straight to Dave Filoni and I was like, ‘So, let’s just talk about Mace Windu and where he is. Can we just talk about this?’” she said.

“Because is he dead?” she asked. “Is he?”
Is Mace Windu Alive?
While Howard did not reveal Filoni’s response to her question, Mace Windu’s fate is now more clouded than ever.

At this time, it is safe to assume that the fan-favorite Jedi is dead. With both Jackson and now Howard pushing for a retcon, perhaps we will see Windu and his purple lightsaber again after all.
