Tom Hanks Shares an Exciting ‘Toy Story 5’ Update
31 years after audiences were first introduced to Woody, Buzz, and the rest of the gang, Bonnie’s toys will return to theaters next year for Toy Story 5.
Originally announced at last year’s D23: The Ultimate Fan Event, the fifth installment in the Toy Story franchise will reunite Woody with his friends and see them face their biggest challenge yet.

“Woody, Buzz, Jessie, and the rest of the gang’s jobs get exponentially harder when they go head to head with an all-new threat to playtime: technology,” the film’s synopsis reads.
Anticipation Is Building
In recent weeks, the buzz (get it?) around Toy Story 5 has continued to grow. Tim Allen has been lauding the film in interviews, calling it a “very, very clever story.”

Based on everything we are hearing, production on Toy Story 5 is humming along nicely. The challenge for Pixar will be to tell a new story that does not negate the emotional impact of Toy Story 4. I, for one, can’t wait to see what the studio has cooked up.

‘Toy Story 5’ is coming to theaters in 2026.
Toy Story 5 will hit theaters on June 19. 2026.
