Matthew & Joshua’s Magical Wedding Aboard the Disney Treasure
Is there anything more romantic and magical than getting married by Disney at sea? We didn’t think so!
Two cast members recently shared their love for cruising and their Disney Fairy Tale Wedding experience onboard Disney Treasure, and it is every bit as magical as you can imagine.
The Disney Connection
For Matthew and Joshua, Disney is at the heart of their love story.
“Disney is what brought us together. Having a Disney Fairy Tale Wedding was the only option,” the couple shared.
From their early days as Disney Cast Members to becoming Disney Cruisers, the couple has always had a strong connection to Disney. When they discovered that the Disney Treasure had elements from their favorite films and attractions, they knew the Disney Treasure was the perfect place to get married.
A Week of Wonder and Fun
The celebration kicked off with a welcome dinner at Disney’s Contemporary Resort. “It was awesome to have both families and friends meet each other before we embarked on our weeklong celebration,” Matthew and Joshua recalled.
The evening continued with fireworks at Magic Kingdom’s Happily Ever After, and rides on Haunted Mansion and TRON Lightcycle Run.
A Perfect Ceremony
Their wedding ceremony was held in the Grand Hall and had a personal twist. “We insisted [our] siblings and parents walk down the aisle,” they said, choosing to forgo a traditional wedding party.
The ceremony was also set to music from Avatar, Aladdin, and Luca, weaving together their favorite Disney memories that had personal meaning to the couple.
Skipper Society Soirée
The celebration continued at Skipper Society, where the couple and their guests toasted with specialty drinks and shared cake. “Truly magical,” they described the day.
After their wedding, Matthew and Joshua set sail on the Disney Dream for their honeymoon and a future filled with more magical adventures! Congrats!
