Passengers Evacuated After Plane Catches Fire at Orlando International Airport
A scary scene unfolded at Orlando International Airport (MCO) this morning when a Delta plane carrying 200 passengers and a 12-member flight crew caught fire on the runway.
Delta Air Lines Flight 1213 was scheduled to depart MCO and head to Atlanta at 11 AM this morning. Videos on social media show flames emerging from the aircraft, and the plane’s emergency slides deployed.
According to reports, the fire started in the tailpipe of one of the aircraft’s engines. X user Dylan Wallace captured the scene.

“The fire was contained and is out. Some passengers were evacuated via an emergency slide,” MCO said in a statement.
No Injuries Were Reported
At this time, it appears that everyone aboard the plane was safely evacuated, and no injuries have been reported. In the aftermath of the fire, Delta released a statement acknowledging the incident.
“We appreciate our customers’ cooperation and apologize for the experience. Nothing is more important than safety and Delta teams will work to get our customers to their final destinations as soon as possible,” Delta said.

After the ordeal, passengers were returned to the terminal, where they were provided with food and beverages.
“Delta will bring in additional aircraft to help get customers to their final destinations,” the airline added.
The Plane Is Being Inspected
At this time, the cause of the tailpipe fire has not been revealed. However, according to Delta, maintenance teams will be inspecting the plane.
