It Takes 6 WEEKS to Complete a Fan-Favorite EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival Drink
With temperatures warming up, Easter in the rearview mirror, and May on the horizon, spring has officially bloomed at Walt Disney World.
If you have ever visited The Most Magical Place on Earth during spring, you know that it is a wonderful time of year at the resort. While all four Disney World parks take on new life during this season, at EPCOT, guests have the opportunity to explore the International Flower & Garden Festival.
Offering tasty food, savory sips, and impressive horticultural displays, the EPCOT Flower & Garden Festival is a fan-favorite event every year. While the festival only takes place for about three months, Disney Cast Members spend much more time than that to make sure everything in the park is perfect!
With that in mind, I want to introduce you to Lindsay, a senior plant sciences associate at Living with the Land.
Hard Work and EPCOT Magic
Last year alone, the dedicated Cast Member harvested over 56,000 flowers for use during the Flower & Garden Festival, including the violas used in the Pineapple Promenade’s Frozen Desert Violet Lemonade.

Made with Minute Maid premium lemonade, desert pear and violet syrups, the frozen drink is topped off with a viola.
The decorative flowers come from The Land pavilion’s greenhouses, where Cast Members like Lindsay harvest them.
According to the senior plant sciences associate, the team prefers to send over purple and pink violas because they match the drink so well!
