EVERYTHING We Learned About ‘The Mandalorian & Grogu’ at Star Wars Celebration 2025
Star Wars Celebration 2025 is rolling in Tokyo, Japan this weekend, bringing all kinds of exciting news from a galaxy far, far away.
Shortly after Lucasfilm revealed that Star Wars: Starfighter was coming to theaters in 2027 and laid out their plans for six other films, the galaxy’s attention shifted back to The Mandalorian & Grogu.
The upcoming film, a spinoff of the Disney+ series The Mandalorian, will continue the story of Din Djarin and Grogu as they work alongside the New Republic

New Footage Was Screened at Star Wars Celebration
At yesterday’s Star Wars celebration, attendees were treated to new footage from the standalone Star Wars film. Director Jon Favreau, Pedro Pascal, and Sigourney Weaver were on hand for the grand reveal.
The clip reveals that Din Djarin and Grogu are now working for the New Republic and hunting down Imperial warlords who have refused to turn themselves in. It also introduces Weaver’s character, a Rebellion veteran who serves as the point of contact for the Mandalorian and his sidekick.

Also included in the clip was a preview of Jeremy Allen White’s Rotta the Hutt, who has bulked up since we last saw him in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and is now fighting as a gladiator.
Previously screened footage from The Mandalorian & Grogu showed the films titular stars, AT-ATs, and the return of Babu Frick and Zeb.
