Why You Should Visit Disney World This Summer
We’ve entered April, which means spring is here and summer is just around the corner.
Have you made your summer vacation plans yet? Well, I’m here to sell you on the place you already want to go.

Here’s why you should visit Walt Disney World this summer.
The New Parade

Mickey’s Boo-To-You Halloween Parade
Do you know what Magic Kingdom has lacked for ages? A nighttime parade!
Sure, the Boo to You Parade works in a pinch, but it’s a seasonal show during Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party.
The park has lacked a full nighttime parade since 2016! Folks, that’s basically a decade.
The last nightly parade at Magic Kingdom was the Main Street Electrical Parade, which Disney moved west that year.

Plans called for a quick replacement, but the idea dragged. Then, the pandemic occurred.
Now, we’re all anxiously counting down the days until the arrival of the Disney Starlight Nighttime Parade.

A new nighttime parade “Disney Starlight” will come to Magic Kingdom in Summer 2025.
We recently showed you the first images of this showstopping parade.
When you visit this summer, you’ll be among the first to experience it.
Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After

Three new shows are coming to Walt Disney World in 2025, and two of them will debut in time for the summer.
Disney just confirmed the opening date for one of them, and it’s enough to cause you to book a trip right now!

On May 27th, Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After will debut.
This show promises to let the dastardly characters in Disney stories explain their side of the story.

A Magic Mirror will feature heavily in the production, which is reason enough to know that Disney has gotten this story right.
To a larger point, this is the first real instance where Disney has given its Villains a spotlight in an attraction.
Disney Villains: Unfairly Ever After is a must-do show at the parks this summer.
Dual Water Parks

Blizzard Beach 30th Anniversary Celebration
At the start of 2025, Disney introduced a brilliant new amenity.
Anytime you stay at an official Walt Disney World hotel, you can spend your first day at a water park for free.

Blizzard Beach
Disney throws in first-day admission as a bonus just for choosing an official Disney resort, which you should do anyway.
On April 1st, Disney wasn’t fooling when it revealed that a different change is coming to the parks.

Blizzard Beach
Starting on May 21st, BOTH water parks at Walt Disney World will operate this summer.
That’s the first time that Disney has simultaneously opened Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach since 2019!

As a vacationer, you benefit from this move, as it doubles your options on your first night.
When you arrive in Orlando, you can choose either water park as your destination.
Even better, you won’t waste a day of theme park admission since the water park ticket is free with your hotel stay!
You should take full advantage of this new, presumably limited-time amenity.
The Last Chance for Buzz Lightyear

Photo: Also Disney
In case you haven’t heard, Disney officials recently decided that Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin isn’t up to snuff.
Whether you and I agree isn’t even the point. In August, Disney will close the attraction until 2026.

During this downtime, Imagineers will modernize the ride to introduce new elements and enhance its gameplay mechanics.
While I’m sure we’ll all grow to love the new and improved Buzz Lightyear attraction, this summer is the last chance for the old one.
This is your last chance to prove yourself a Galactic Hero! And speaking of last chances…
The Last Ride on DINOSAUR

Tropical Americas signage
In case you haven’t heard, parts of DinoLand U.S.A. have already closed permanently.
Disney will soon reclaim this space and reinvent it as the Tropical Americas.

In fact, construction is already well underway behind the scenes at Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
So, fans of the current DinoLand U.S.A. experiences are running out of time.
This summer represents one of your final opportunities to spend time at the Boneyard and ride DINOSAUR.
Change is coming soon across Walt Disney World. I didn’t even list Muppet*Vision 3D since it’s closing on June 7th.

These are experiences you can still enjoy, depending on the date of your visit.
You’ll get to enjoy DINOSAUR all summer, but Muppet*Vision 3D is more of a “Go! Go! Go!” scenario.
The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure
Disney’s Hollywood Studios will add a second show on May 27th.
This one represents a return to the park’s past, though, as Animation Courtyard has hosted a Little Mermaid show for ages.
The original one debuted in 1992 but ran out of steam about a decade ago, at least according to most people.
I still loved it, but Disney understandably decided to make a change.

Fast forward to Memorial Day Weekend, and we’ll get The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure.
This new show retells Ariel’s story in an entirely new way, utilizing modern stage elements to bring the action to life.

Walt Disney Archives
While the Disney Villains show will gain most of the headlines, you shouldn’t sleep on the new Little Mermaid show.
Nobody’s better at breathing new life into timeless stories than Disney.
Test Track 3.0
While Disney hasn’t revealed the opening date yet, we also know that the next version of Test Track will arrive this summer.
Disney promises a modern, eco-friendly attraction that embraces the spirit of the original attraction in this building, World of Motion.

Test Track 3.0
Most of what we know about Test Track 3.0 is theoretical, but I have a great deal of confidence about this particular ride.
The last version, Test Track 2.0, was one of Disney’s best thrill rides.

If they’re replacing that with something they believe is better, the new ride is gonna be liquid metal hot.
The Walt Disney World Discounts

Photo: Disneyplanning.com
In case you missed the news, Disney recently revealed a slew of summer discounts.
That’s the final tidbit that should sell you on a Walt Disney World visit this summer.

Photo: Disney
My favorite of the discounts is a deal including the Disney Dining Plan for visits starting on June 29th.
However, there are several others. To find the deal that best suits your needs, you should speak with a MickeyTravels agent.

Disney Dining Plans
These Diamond Earmarked agents know every Disney deal available at all times.
Remarkably, they offer their services entirely free of charge to you, though.
