WATCH: ‘Light & Magic’ Season 2 Trailer Has Arrived as Series Returns to Disney+
In case you missed the news, Star Wars Celebration is currently underway in Tokyo, Japan, and announcements have been coming fast and furious.
So far, Lucasfilm has announced Star Wars: Starfighter and confirmed that six other Star Wars films are currently in development. Additionally, a new animated series titled Maul — Shadow Lord will debut next year!

In addition to all the aforementioned announcements, fans attending Star Wars Celebration also got a sneak peek at the upcoming Light & Magic Season 2.
What Is ‘Light & Magic’?
For those who don’t know, Light & Magic is a docuseries produced by Imagine Documentaries that tells the story of Lucasfilm’s Industrial Light & Magic (ILM). The first season of the series was released in 2022, captivating audiences with its detailed look at the fabled special effects company.
Now, Season 2 of Light & Magic has debuted on Disney+.

This time around, the series will tell the story of ILM during its most challenging period, the dawn of digital.
“From creating the first fully realized CG character to solving the challenge of digital water, it is an era that finds ILM scaling new heights of innovation despite dramatic setbacks,” the season’s synopsis reads.

Directed by Joe Johnston and produced by Ron Howard, Light & Magic Season 2 is must-see TV for any fan of Star Wars, movie making, or popular culture. Johnston executive produces the docuseries alongside Brian Grazer, Howard, Justin Wilkes, Sara Bernstein, Lawrence Kasdan, Kathleen Kennedy, and Carrie Beck.
