Tim Allen Shares New Details About ‘Toy Story 5’
At last year’s D23: The Ultimate Fan Event, Pixar Chief Creative Officer Pete Docter shocked the fans in attendance and around the world when he announced that Toy Story 5 was officially in development.
While murmurs of a new installment in the Toy Story franchise had been circulating for months, many fans were skeptical that Pixar would continue its flagship franchise. After all, the last time we caught up with Bonnie’s toys, Woody had left his friends to start a new life with Bo Peep.
Although it remains unclear how Pixar will reunite Woody with Buzz, Jesse, and the rest of the gang, concept art for the film shows the toys back together. Reunited, the group will face their biggest challenge yet.

“Woody, Buzz, Jessie, and the rest of the gang’s jobs get exponentially harder when they go head to head with an all-new threat to playtime: technology,” the film’s synopsis reads.
Tim Allen Says ‘Toy Story 5’ Will Heavily Feature Jessie
In a recent interview with WIVB, Tim Allan spoke about his return as Buzz Lightyear in Toy Story 5. While the actor made sure not to give too much away, he did confirm that Woody and Buzz will reunite. The film, however, will focus on a different character.

“I can tell you that it’s a lot about Jessie,” Allen said. “Tom [Hanks] and I do — Woody and I — do realign. And there’s an unbelievable opening scene with Buzz Lightyear. I can give you that, but I can’t give you much more.”
Allen Has Previously Hyped the Film
This is not the first time that Allen has lauded Toy Story 5. Last December, he told Collider that the film had a “very clever story.”

“It’s a very, very clever story,” Allen teased.
“Do you wanna do five of these? I don’t really believe it’s about the money. I’m sure they want it to be a success, but that’s not why they did it. Had they not come up with a brilliant script, they wouldn’t have done it and they wouldn’t have called me and Tom [Hanks]. It’s really clever.”
