Diego Luna and His ‘Andor’ Blaster Caused Quite a Stir at a London Airport
Diego Luna’s Cassian Andor may be a beloved rogue-turned Rebel in the Star Wars universe, but the actor caused quite the stir when passing through London’s Heathrow airport.
During a recent appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live, Luna revealed a harrowing incident when he accidentally brought a prop blaster from Andor through airport security.
The fake weapon had been a gift from the series wrap party, and the actor did not realize that he had it tucked away in his luggage.

“The guys unwrapped the [blaster] and they were like, ‘Whoa, what is that!?’” Luna recalled. “And I was trying to grab it to say, ‘No, it’s just a prop!’ And everyone [went], ‘No, no, no! Don’t touch it!’”
The Actor Was Eventually Allowed to Proceed
Making matters even worse, one of the security agents recognized Luna from his performance as a drug kingpin in Narcos: Mexico, not for his time in the Star Wars galaxy. On top of everything else, the actor was hungover.
“He’s like, ‘Whoa, wait a second!’” Luna joked. “It was a mess — and I was hungover from the party, so I did look kind of broken, let’s put it that way.”

In order to get his prop blaster through security, Luna had to jump through numerous hoops. Thankfully, however, he was able to keep the piece of Star Wars history.
“They asked me to go out, sign a letter, I had to show them in my phone pictures of the character, myself, grabbing the blaster,” he said. “There’s even toys, you know? They got it at the end.”

Playing it Safe
After finally getting home with the prop, Luna decided to play it safe.
“It’s in my closet,” he declared. “It’s never coming out.”
