PHOTOS: Construction on Stormalong Bay and Disney’s Yacht Club Resort Continues
Of all of Walt Disney World’s many resorts, my favorites are Disney’s Yacht and Beach Club Resorts.
Themed after the New England seaside resorts of the late 19th and early 20th centuries, the sister hotels offer elegance, charm, and an unbeatable location from which to visit either Disney’s Hollywood Studios or EPCOT.
When you add in the resorts’ proximity to Disney’s BoardWalk and the EPCOT Skyliner station, the Yacht & Beach Clubs really put you in the middle of the magic.

Of all the amenities offered at the two resorts, however, the crown jewel is Stormalong Bay. Consisting of multiple pools, a water slide, and a lazy river, the water recreation area is the perfect place for some fun in the sun.
Stormalong Bay Is Closed For Refurbishment
Unfortunately for guests staying at the Yacht and Beach Clubs this spring, Stormalong Bay has been closed for refurbishment.

The last time we checked in on the project, construction crews were working diligently on the pool itself.
When visiting Stormalong Bay today, we could see that the refurbishment of the lazy river and pool is still underway.
In addition to refinishing the floor, the crews were also adding new sand!
Nearby, dozens of sandbags could be seen.
Here is another look at the construction.
Yacht Club Construction
While the refurbishment of Stormalong Bay continues, Disney is also refurbishing the exterior of Disney’s Yacht Club.
As you can see, it looks like construction materials for the hotel’s facade are being kept inside Stormalong Bay.
Large construction equipment is also on hand.
Here is another look at the state of the project.
When Will the Refurbishment End?
As of this writing, Stormalong Bay is expected to reopen at Disney’s Yacht and Beach Clubs this June. When we get a definitive date, we will pass it along!
