American Airlines to Add Free Wi-Fi Perk to Most Flights
If you’ve flown anytime recently, you already know that in-flight perks are generally in short supply. We’re charged for just about everything, from checked baggage to the ability to sit next to our kids.

Fortunately, there’s one perk that most airlines DO offer — free Wi-Fi! That is, most airlines except American Airlines.

Free Wi-Fi Coming to American Airlines Flights
Wi-Fi is a pretty big deal nowadays, with most of us requiring it for work, entertainment, and social connection.

In fact, many of us expect to find free Wi-Fi almost anywhere we go, whether it’s Starbucks, the hair salon, or our local library.
So, it should come as no surprise that most of us hope to find free Wi-Fi even when we’re in flight!

Fortunately, most airlines have been providing the service as a perk for quite some time. Delta Air Lines, for example, added free Wi-Fi to most flights back in 2023. Meanwhile, JetBlue has offered the service for over a decade!
However, American Airlines remains one of the few airlines that still charges guests for high-speed Internet access. Recent prices have ranged between $10 per flight and $599 for an annual pass.

But if you’re planning to fly with American Airlines next year, we have good news for you!
Beginning January 2026, the airline will begin providing free Wi-Fi service to members of its free-to-join loyalty program. The perk will be available on 90% of its fleet – and we can’t help but hope that this includes flights to Disney World, Disneyland, and other Disney Parks worldwide!
