‘Lilo & Stitch’ May Outgross ‘Snow White’ in Just Three Days
Objectively speaking, 2025 has not started well for Disney at the box office. Despite a strong debut weekend, Captain America: Brave New World failed to meet Marvel’s standards and concluded its box office run with a paltry $414.1 million global cume.
Considering the film’s $180 million budget, Disney likely lost money on the fourth Captain America installment.

Then, of course, there is Snow White.
A Box Office Disaster
After numerous delays, several reshoots, and plenty of controversy, Snow White finally landed in theaters on March 21, 2025. The film, which had a budget of between $240 and $270 million, subsequently imploded.
As of this writing, Snow White has grossed just $82 million in domestic theaters and $100 million overseas. Based on those numbers, Disney stands to lose over $100 million on the film.

While Disney’s box office outlook for this year has been bleak, help is on the horizon.
Lilo & Stitch Looks Like a Blockbuster
Disney’s live-action Lilo & Stitch will hit theaters on May 23, and so far, all indications point to the film being a rousing success. After delivering a record-breaking trailer and grabbing headlines at the Super Bowl, Lilo & Stitch is tracking towards a strong box office debut.

According to a new report from Deadline, the film is eyeing an opening weekend north of $100 million.
If Lilo & Stitch can deliver such a debut, the film will not only be poised for a massive box office run but will also have outgrossed Snow White’s entire domestic haul in just three days.
