May is going to be a crazy month for the Disneyland Resort!

Disneyland’s Season of the Force and Star Wars after-hours events will continue through the beginning of May. Then, on May 16th, the resort’s 70th anniversary celebration will kick off, filling the parks with limited-time entertainment, décor, attraction updates, and much more. But that’s not all–the reopening of a classic attraction has been delayed, pushing the date back to May. Here’s what we know.
NEW “it’s a small world” Reopening Date
Disneyland’s “it’s a small world” is currently under refurbishment, and was originally scheduled to reopen on April 25th. However, that date no longer shows hours of operation for the attraction.

The attraction is now scheduled to welcome back guests on May 9th–two weeks after it was previously expected to reopen.

The attraction’s refurbishment includes the addition of Miguel and his alebrije, Dante! The two Coco characters, along with a marigold bridge, will debut in the attraction when it reopens this May.

“it’s a small world” Third Verse Debut
That’s not the only update the attraction is receiving this year! On July 17th, Disneyland’s 70th birthday, the attraction will update to include the third and final verse of “it’s a small world.” The new verse, written by Richard M. Sherman, was his last contribution to Disney.

Curious about the update to the song? Disney posted “The Last Verse” on YouTube, which shows the new verse in this beautiful tribute to the Sherman brothers. Watch it here:
There’s a lot to look forward to over at “it’s a small world” this year! So head over to the attraction on the new reopening date, May 9th, to see the Coco additions! And we’ll update you if anything changes (again), so stay tuned to MickeyBlog.com.
