Construction Update: Tortilla Jo’s Makes Way for New Eateries in Downtown Disney
At Downtown Disney, it’s all about the FOOD!

Okay, there’s also some pretty incredible shopping — but even shopping requires PLENTY of sustenance!
Fortunately, there are loads of options at Downtown Disney at Disneyland Resort — from sweet beignets to mouthwatering burgers and shakes (and everything in between!).

Until recently, guests could always count on some fabulous Mexican fare over at Tortilla Jo’s, including tortillas, tacos, enchiladas, and more.

Sadly, the popular eatery officially closed its doors back in April of 2024 to make way for new dining concepts.
But while Tortilla Jo’s will be sorely missed, we’re also SUPER excited for the new restaurants that will be opening soon in the space!

This week, our team stopped by for a look at all the progress at Tortilla Jo’s. Let’s check it out!
Tortilla Jo’s Transformation
In case you missed it, the building previously known as Tortilla Jo’s is currently undergoing a massive transformation to make way for The Carnaby Tavern and Earl of Sandwich (which already enjoys cult status over at Disney Springs in Disney World).

The transformation is already well underway, with colorful construction walls surrounding the area.

Unsurprisingly, crews are hard at work dismantling the building. Of course, we’re sad to see it go, but excited to see what’s next for the site!

As of now, the construction walls are adorned with signage for Earl of Sandwich and The Carnaby Tavern — reminding us that the best is yet to come!
