First Look: See Spider-Man Swing Into Action on the Disney Destiny’s Stern
Ahoy there, adventurers! Say, who’s ready to fulfill their destiny aboard the Disney Cruise Line?
In case you didn’t know, the Disney Destiny, the latest addition to the Disney Cruise Line fleet, is preparing to embark on her maiden voyage this winter, and the buzz around the ship is hotter than ever before!
Yes, the gorgeous Disney Destiny will be home to all kinds of never-before-seen entertainment, dining options, attractions, and more. We couldn’t be more excited to learn more about all she has to offer!

This week, along with our friends at MickeyTravels, our MickeyBlog reporters have been lucky enough to be invited along to an exclusive preview event for the ship held aboard the beautiful Disney Wish. Come join us, and let’s take a closer look at what the Destiny has in store for us!
A Ship to Marvel At
If you’ve been following along here at MickeyBlog, you know that the Disney Destiny will pay a particularly powerful homage to everything MARVEL, with one-of-a-kind, superhero-themed experiences never before seen on a Disney ship!
These include features such as The Sanctum, a lounge inspired by Doctor Strange, and Saga, a Wakanda-inspired activity hub for families. Additionally, Marvel fans will have the opportunity to experience Worlds of Marvel, a Guardians of the Galaxy-themed dining experience, and the Marvel Super Hero Academy kids club.

Spidey-Stern!
Did you know that all Disney Cruise Line vessels feature a character scene on the stern to serve as an emblem of the ship and the stories it tells?
Well, the Disney Destiny will be the first ever ship to feature a character from the Marvel Universe!
Spider-Man – Disney Destiny Preview Event
When the Destiny sets sail, Spider-Man will make history as the first superhero to be featured on the stern of a Disney Cruise Line ship. We couldn’t think of a more perfect face to represent the power of true destiny!
Recently, Jay Abruzzese, a principal production designer at Walt Disney Imagineering, met with his team to review the new stern. Thankfully, Imagineering shared the moment.

As you can see, the design features Spidey scaling the ship’s stern and making a cheeky effort to add his own decorations to the “Disney Destiny” filigree. Do you think a slew of freshly spun spiderwebs look good next to that golden logo? Spider-Man seems to think so!

Hilariously, it’s not just Spider-Man who will feature on the stern. Joining him is a gaggle of those pesky-but-cute Spider-Bots – and they sure seem to be enjoying their cruise vacation!
In a short video, Disney shared the Spider-Bots’ journey from Disney California Adventure to the Disney Destiny. As you can see, they are excited!

Disney Cruise Line’s Stern Characters
Seeing familiar faces adorn the ships’ sterns is something of a tradition at Disney Cruise Line, with different characters featured on each vessel.

If you’ve ever sailed with Disney, you may already know some of the characters featured on each ship! If not, here’s a list of all the characters currently seen on each ship’s stern:
- Disney Magic — Goofy
- Disney Wonder — Donald Duck and Huey
- Disney Dream — Sorcerer Mickey and brooms
- Disney Fantasy — Dumbo and Timothy Q. Mouse
- Disney Wish — Rapunzel and Pascal
- Disney Treasure — Peter Pan and Captain Hook
