Lightning Lane Temporarily Not Being Offered for Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland
Disney World and Disneyland have seen a lot of changes when it comes to their systems that allow guests to skip the lines of certain attractions. Many are familiar with the old FastPass system, which then changed to Disney Genie+, and now it’s just called Lightning Lane.

Lightning Lane passes are a paid option that allows you to book a time to skip the line at select attractions around the parks. But, the system still seems to be changing a bit, which we can see from a minor change happening at Disneyland Resort right now.
Pirates of the Caribbean Lightning Lane Changes
According to Scott Gustin on X, Pirates of the Caribbean at Disneyland Park will only be available via standby queue from today through Monday, April 14th, 2025.
The ride will once again offer Lightning Lane on Tuesday, April 15th.

Pirates of the Caribbean
Pirates of the Caribbean is currently listed as “temporarily available” as one of the Lightning Lane Multi Pass selections on Disneyland’s website.
So, this means that if you want to ride Pirates of the Caribbean while you’re at Disneyland this weekend, the only way you can do that is by waiting in the regular line. There is no option to skip the line by booking a Lightning Lane.

We’re not sure why Disney is doing this, but it might be to test out how the ride operates if it doesn’t have the option of a Lightning Lane. Since it’s only temporarily available as one of the Lightning Lane Multi Pass selections, Disney could take it away at any time.
We’ll let you know if anything else changes with the ride.
