A New Exhibit at the Walt Disney Family Museum Will Highlight the Storied Career of Mary Blair
If you love Disney history, there is no better place in the world than The Walt Disney Family Museum. Home to many of the artifacts that made the company what it is today, the museum does an amazing job of not only preserving Disney’s past but also celebrating the men and women who made the company so beloved.
With that in mind, I am thrilled to report that a new exhibition exploring the creative achievements and vision of Disney Legend Mary Blair is set to debut at the museum next month!

Beginning May 22, 2025, visitors to The Walt Disney Family Museum will be able to explore Mary Blair: Mid-Century Magic, a new exhibit showcasing Blair’s artwork from the museum’s collection.
Mary Blair Takes Center Stage
If you are a longtime visitor to The Walt Disney Family Museum, you will likely remember the Magic, Color, Flair: The World of Mary Blair exhibit that debuted in 2014. The new exhibition will be a reimagined version of that showcase.
Curated by The Walt Disney Family Museum’s Director of Collections & Exhibitions Marina Villar-Delgado and based on the original exhibition created by John Canemaker, Mary Blair: Mid-Century Magic promises a fresh look at the Disney Legend’s career.

The new exhibition will specifically highlight Blair’s later collaborations with Walt Disney on theme park attractions, facades, and murals.
“Known for her whimsical and daring approach to art, Blair’s versatility spanned multiple mediums, including watercolor, pencil and ink, collage, and ceramics. Mary Blair: Mid-Century Magic will feature nearly 150 artworks and historical photographs exploring her influential role in shaping the look and feel of many of Disney’s animated films and theme park experiences—an artistic vision that continues to resonate today,” The Walt Disney Family Museum teased.
“Guests will also have the opportunity to dive deeper into the exhibition experience with hands-on Mary Blair-themed art activities or using their phones to unlock augmented reality interactives.”
The Exhibition Opens May 22
Mary Blair: Mid-Century Magic will be housed in The Walt Disney Family Museum’s Lower Lobby and Theater Galleries from May 22 through September 7, 2025. The exhibition will be free with general admission, though there is a suggested donation of $5.
