PHOTOS: Another Section of the Screen Door General Store Reopens
If you have been reading along here at MickeyBlog, you know that the last year has been a time of change at Disney’s BoardWalk Resort.
Over the last 12 months, we have seen the opening of The Cake Bake Shop and Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs, the closure of Big River Grille and the upcoming closure of Jellyrolls, and finally, a systematic refurbishment of the resort’s shops.
The last time we checked in, Disney had reopened one portion of Screen Door General Store and begun work on the store’s center section. Now, we are back with another update!
Another Section of the Screen Door General Store Has Reopened!
When we visited Disney’s BoardWalk Resort today, we were thrilled to see that the middle section of the Screen Door General Store had reopened!
As you can see, the store continues to sell Disney apparel, kitchenware, and other souvenirs.
The store now boasts light wood flooring, similar to what we have seen at Magic Kingdom’s Emporium.
Here is how the two refurbished sections blend together.
And here is another look at the opposite side of the refurbished portion of the store.
Paintings of Stitch and the Sensational Six are displayed on the wall.
An Art of Disney kiosk has also been installed.
Here is a closer look.
Finally, we have the refurbished counter.
Thimbles & Threads Has Closed
With work on the middle section of the Screen Door General Store now complete, Disney has closed off the final section of stores, Thimbles & Threads.
When this area is refurbished, the renovations will be complete.
