Disneyland Resort Donates an Iconic Attraction Vehicle
On February 8, 2025, the Red Car Trolley at Disney California Adventure ceased operation after thirteen years of delighting guests with a trip down Buena Vista Street.
Originally opening on June 15, 2012, as part of the overhaul of Disney California Adventure, the Red Car Trolley was inspired by the Pacific Electric Railway’s Red Cars, which were once an iconic mode of transportation in Southern California.
Like its sister attraction, the Main Street Vehicles, the Red Car Trolley immersed guests in the atmosphere of Disney California Adventure and provided the kind of kinetic energy that makes the Disney Parks feel alive.

Unfortunately, last year, Disney announced that the Red Car Trolley would be closing to make way for an expansion of Avengers Campus. At the time, it was revealed that one of the Red Car Trolley vehicles would remain parked on Buena Vista Street as a photo op.
The fate of the second vehicle was unclear. Until now.
Disneyland Donated a Red Car Trolley Vehicle to the Garner Holt Foundation
Yesterday, the Garner Holt Foundation took to Instagram and revealed that Disneyland had donated one of their Red Car Trolley vehicles to the organization.

“Thanks to this generous donation from our friends at the Disneyland Resort, this piece of theme park history can now continue to inspire the next generation of dreamers and doers to discover potential careers in STEM and STEAM,” the foundation wrote.
“Let’s keep moving forward down the tracks to the future for aspiring designers, engineers, and other visionaries who participate in Garner Holt Foundation events and keep the wheels of imagination turning!”
