Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge Welcomes a New Member to Its Family
While Disney’s Animal Kingdom offers some of the most immersive environments, awe-inspiring attractions, and mouth-watering restaurants Walt Disney World has to offer, anyone who has visited the park knows that the real draws are the animals.
As we have seen with Bakso’s arrival, fans visiting Animal Kingdom flock to the park’s animal stars. The park’s magic is the way that it blends Disney storytelling with the natural world, giving guests an experience that they cannot get anywhere else.

This experience extends to Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, where guests are immersed in nature’s beauty and can meet many of Disney’s exotic animals.

With that in mind, I am pleased to announce that Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge has welcomed a new member to its family!
Introducing Lyra
This morning, Dr. Mark Penning, Vice President of Animals, Science, and Environment at Walt Disney World, took to Instagram to announce that a new Rüppell’s griffon vulture named Lyra had been born.

For those who don’t know, Rüppell’s griffon vultures are critically endangered in the wild, making Lyra’s birth especially important.
Currently, both parents, John and Janet, are nurturing their new baby alongside Disney animal care experts.

As you can see, she is adorable!
