See How Shanghai Disney Resort Celebrates Earth Month!
Disney Earth Month has officially started at Shanghai Disney Resort, inviting guests, cast members, and the entire community to immerse themselves in nature!
This year’s celebration also marks the 30th anniversary of the Disney Conservation Fund (DCF) and the 10th anniversary of the bird-monitoring program at Wishing Star Park.
In honor of these milestones, the resort is offering a variety of interactive and engaging activities that are perfect for inspiring love and action for the environment.
Celebrate Earth Day
“ourHOME” Nature Conservation Forum
A highlight of Earth Month is the “ourHOME” Nature Conservation Forum, hosted at the resort on Earth Day, April 22.
Partnering with National Geographic, the forum aims to inspire and highlight global conservation initiatives through panel discussions featuring:
- National Geographic Explorers
- Renowned environmental experts
- Nonprofit organizations and volunteers
- Students and cast members
Disney Conservation Fund
Another exciting milestone! This year marks the 30th anniversary of the Disney Conservation Fund (DCF).
DCF has supported nonprofit organizations globally in helping to protect over 1,000 species of wildlife and natural habitats worldwide.
One of these efforts includes sponsoring and supporting the International Crane Foundation (ICF) to help Siberian Cranes along their flyway. The cranes’ population has since nearly doubled.
In celebration of this collaboration, representatives from the ICF and DCF will inspire and share best practices in nature conservation during the forum.
Youth Environmental Inspiration Program
The Youth Environmental Inspiration Program is a partnership between Shanghai Disney Resort and the Shanghai Science and Education Development Foundation. Through a fun competition, it encourages students to identify environmental challenges and create solutions.
The top three teams will be awarded during the forum.
Engaging Activities for Guests and Cast Members
From April 18 to 22, guests and cast members can participate in the “Celebrate Earth Month Fair” at Disneytown’s lakeshore lawn.
The fair features themed booths and interactive activities on topics including waste sorting, water conservation, and nature exploration.
Environmental Steward Program
Another fantastic program! As part of the “Environmental Steward Program” at Shanghai Disney Resort, guests who show Earth-friendly action during their visit will have a chance to receive a limited-edition themed sticker from cast members.
More Action and Celebration
