Two of ‘Star Wars’ Most Notorious Bounty Hunters Return in ‘Tales of the Underworld’ Trailer
Since the debut of Star Wars: The Clone Wars in 2008, the best stories from the galaxy far, far away have been delivered through animation.
Between The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels, and The Bad Batch, the Star Wars narrative has been expanded upon and relayed in a way that was simply not possible in feature films.
The Star Wars animated canon has not only given us some of the franchise’s most popular characters, including Ahsoka Tano, Sabine Wren, Kanan Jarrus, Ezra Bridger, and the aforementioned Bad Batch, but it has also given us further insight into previously established characters like Anakin Skywalker, Yoda, Count Dooku, and Darth Maul.
With the conclusion of The Bad Batch last year, however, the Star Wars animated story reached a crossroads. For the first time in recent memory, it was unclear what Lucasfilm had planned for the medium.
‘Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld’
Today, Disney+ answered that question when it released a trailer for Star Wars: Tales of the Underworld. Building on the success of Tales of the Jedi and Tales of the Empire, the new anthology series will continue the story of fan-favorite bounty hunters Asajj Ventress and Cad Bane.
“Former assassin and bounty hunter Asajj Ventress is given a new chance at life and must go on the run with an unexpected new ally, while outlaw Cad Bane faces his past when he confronts an old friend, now a Marshal on the opposite side of the law,” the show’s synopsis teases.

Created by Dave Filoni, who also serves as supervising director, Tales of the Underworld will continue the Star Wars tradition of highlighting some of the galaxy’s most infamous rogues.
