PHOTOS: Major Progress on the Woody’s Lunch Box Shade Structure at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

If you have been reading along here at MickeyBlog, you know that we have been closely following the construction of the new shade structure outside Woody’s Lunch Box in Toy Story Land.

Since the Pixar-themed land opened on June 20, 2018, fans have flocked to Andy’s backyard to ride Slinky Dog Dash, Alien Swirling Saucers, and Toy Story Mania. Additionally, Woody’s Lunch Box has become a fan-favorite restaurant for guests of all ages.

While Toy Story Land has generally been a successful addition to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, guests have consistently complained about the lack of shade there.

Disney Has Been Adding Shade to Toy Story Land

To rectify this, Disney demolished part of the eatery’s patio last year and began constructing new outdoor seating.

As part of the project, Imagineers have also created a large shade structure.

The last time we checked in on the construction in Toy Story Land, the structure was coming along nicely.

Now, it is my pleasure to announce that even more progress has been made!

Woody’s Lunch Box Shade Structure Update

When we visited Toy Story Land this morning, we were thrilled to see that more progress had been made on the Woody’s Lunch Box’s shade structure.

Built out of K’NEX and LEGO and overseen by Green Army Men, the structure looks great!

The giant LEGOs that serve as the structure’s roof are now finished.

These will light up at night, making Woody’s Lunch Box a really cool place to sit after dark.

As you can see, work has now begun on another large roof.

So far, only the framework is in place.

All in all, the new shade structure looks like it could be a game changer in Toy Story Land.
