Frontier Is Offering FREE Checked Bags for a Limited Time Amid Southwest Uproar!

There’s no doubt that you’ve heard about Southwest’s controversial policy change by now.

The airline’s highly popular “Bags Fly Free” policy ends on May 28th–when they’ll start charging guests for their first and second checked bags. This was an…interesting…change in policy, as this free perk was a huge reason customers chose to fly with Southwest. Limited-Time Free Checked Bags – Frontier Airlines

WGN9 reported on Frontier Airlines’ limited-time offer, which appears to be in response to Southwest ending their “Bags Fly Free” perk. Their offer, which is valid for nonstop flights occurring through August 18th, gives customers an “Economy Bundle,” which includes a free carry-on bag, free seat selection, and free flight modifications.

Additionally, customers can earn one free checked bag for flights departing between May 28th (*cough* when Southwest ends their free checked bags perk *cough*) and August 18th by using the promo code FREEBAG.

Frontier’s offer will only be available for trips booked by Monday, March 24th. Frontier’s CEO, Barry Biffle, said they view the offer as a “divorce your old airline deal.” Ouch. The coolest part about the deal? If customers show Frontier that they appreciate the perk–through booking–the CEO said they’ll make this change permanent. (Hurry you guys–book!)
