He will now oversee merchandise and licensed products for the Disney Store e-commerce and brick-and-mortar locations.
From Streetwear to the House of Mouse
Kim made the announcement earlier today on Instagram.
This new position follows the recent closure of The Hundreds’ flagship store on Fairfax Avenue, a landmark in the streetwear community. Kim also shared that he is stepping down as creative director of The Hundreds, though the brand will continue selling online and through select retailers.

“With more than 20 years of experience, Bobby’s creativity and cultural influence transcends fashion,” Rosie said in a statement. “His commitment to innovation and authenticity makes him the ideal candidate to lead our Americas creative teams, as we continue to surprise and delight consumers through our licensed, theme parks, and Disney Store businesses.”
Bobby Kim’s History
Kim co-founded The Hundreds in 2003 with Ben Shenassafar while both were law students at Loyola. Through a combo of streetwear and storytelling, the brand built a global following.
Kim’s blog and later his memoir, This Is Not a T-Shirt, offer insights into the culture and business of street fashion.

His past work with Disney includes a popular 2008 collab reimagining Peter Pan’s Lost Boys. His collaborations have helped expand Disney’s audience and reach fans in new ways:
“I remember at that time [Disney] really only targeted children and female audiences. They said, ‘We have no inroads with men.’ And I said, ‘If you work with us, I’ll show you,’” Kim previously told The Hollywood Reporter. “It opened up an entire new lane; more young guys were getting into Disney.”

With Disney Consumer Products, Kim will bring his innovative approach to an even broader audience.
