Disney World’s Easter-Themed Whoopie Pie ALMOST Has Us Jumping for Joy…
Spring is getting ready to…well–spring into action, and we can hardly wait!

Of course, we’re excited about the blooming flowers (and we’re not just talking about over at the Flower & Garden Festival) and sunshine–but that’s not all. We’re also looking forward to the spring-inspired treats that will pop up around the Disney World Resort. And, speaking of it, we’re about to dig into one right now!

Now through April 20th, resort guests can grab a Painted Egg Whoopie Pie, inspired by Easter! The treat is a cinnamon sponge cake with maple buttercream filling, topped with pastel chocolate and springtime sprinkles. We got our own for $5.29.

So…we’re unsure how to feel about this one. The cake is dry and the filling has the texture of…a stick of butter. We were hoping for more of a moist cake with whipped and fluffy filling, ya know?

However, the flavors really did some heavy lifting here. They’re subtle–in the best way possible–pulling our tastebuds away from the overly sweet flavors we run into pretty often with treats. The warm cinnamon notes are present in the cake and pair perfectly with the slight maple flavor in the filling.

So, while the execution wasn’t perfect, the flavors definitely were worth experiencing! You can grab your own from the following locations:
