The Tortuga Tavern Seating Area Has Reopened at Magic Kingdom
If you have been reading along here at MickeyBlog, you know that we have been closely following the changes taking place at Magic Kingdom’s Tortuga Tavern.
As a quick recap, the eatery closed on June 14, 2024, amid rumors that it would be repurposed into the previously announced Pirates of the Caribbean lounge.
Subsequently, however, Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar, which is located across the walkway from Tortuga Tavern, closed for a major refurbishment.
With the main Pirates of the Caribbean shop unusable, Disney hastily transformed Tortuga Tavern into a temporary store. The location was dubbed Tortuga Treasures.
Tortuga Tavern Returned But Remained Closed
When Plaza del Sol Caribe Bazaar reopened late last year, the merchandise was removed from Tortuga Treasures, and the location’s name revered to Tortuga Tavern.
Despite this, the eatery has remained closed.
The Restaurant’s Seating Area Has Reopened
When visiting Adventureland today, we were thrilled to see that the Tortuga Tavern seating area has reopened.
As you can see, guests can once again sit down and relax on the restaurant’s covered patio.
Disney has not made any changes to the dining area, outside of perhaps some cleaning.

Will the Restaurant Reopen?
While guests now have another place to sit and relax in Adventureland, Tortuga Tavern is still not serving food.
As Disney has now reopened the dining area and reverted the location’s name back to Tortuga Tavern, however, the eatery may reopen soon.
The big test for the restaurant will be Spring Break, which is just around the corner.
If Tortuga Tavern remains closed through one of Disney’s busiest seasons, we may have to give up hope that the restaurant will return.
