PHOTOS: Farewell to “It’s Tough to Be a Bug” at Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Another piece of Disney history has come to an end. “It’s Tough to Be a Bug,” the long-running 3D attraction inside the Tree of Life at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, has officially closed today.

It’s Tough to Be a Bug
The attraction, which debuted with the park’s opening in 1998, entertained guests for over 25 years! Fans are excited for change but definitely saddened by the loss of this iconic attraction.
A Bug’s Life in the Tree of Life
Did you get a chance to experience this one last time? Inspired by Pixar’s A Bug’s Life, the show took guests “underground” to experience life from a bug’s perspective.

The beloved 3D animation show combined in-theater effects and audio-animatronics.
Now, the attraction is closed as construction begins for Zootopia: Better Zoogether! The new show will debut later this year.

We stopped by Animal Kingdom early this morning, and all signs of “it’s Tough to Be a Bug” are already disappearing.

“it’s Tough to be a Bug” has already been removed from the Animal Kingdom Park Guide Map and My Disney Experience app.

The signage has also been removed, and the walkway is open for Tree of Life.

We also saw that walls and blockades had gone up overnight at the exit.

The transformation of this space will be a major step in the ongoing transformation of Animal Kingdom.

However, the closing is definitely bittersweet as it marks the end of an era for Animal Kingdom and the beginning of something new.
