“It’s Tough To Be A Bug!” Has Been Removed From Disney’s Animal Kingdom Map
Well, it finally happened! Did you ever really think it would?
“It’s Tough To Be A Bug!” has now officially closed at Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and the park’s guide maps have just been updated to show the new, bug-less layout.
Let’s take a closer look…
Wow, It Really is Tough…
Good morning from Disney’s Animal Kingdom! How’s everyone doing today?
We’re not going to lie, the atmosphere here in the park feels a little peculiar today, as an iconic, opening-day attraction is officially no longer here on Discovery Island.

Animal Kingdom Map
In disbelief, our reporters picked up a guide map on their way into the park.
As you can see, the design has just changed for the season, featuring a cute, binocular-bearing guest on the cover.
However, we’ve got a sneaking suspicion that this front photo won’t be the most notable thing about the new guidemap…
Yep, as you can see, “It’s Tough to be a Bug!” has officially been removed from the official map of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, for the first time ever in the park’s history.
Whether you loved the show or found it brought you wasp-related trauma, we’re sure you’ll still be quite sorry to see it go!
Now, as we all know, “It’s Tough to be a Bug!” was housed inside the Tree of Life, Animal Kingdom’s spectacular park icon. Of course, this tree hasn’t been removed at all and still remains visible to guests right there in the center of the map, and middle of the park.
Now, the only tree-related attraction listed on the map is the “Discovery Island Trail,” where guests are still able to walk around the tree and admire all those beautiful animal carvings around its trunk.
My Disney Experience
Over on the My Disney Experience app, we can see that the same thing has happened, and “It’s Tough to be a Bug!” cannot be seen on the online map.
The Tree of Life still looks beautiful, but it’s strange to see something missing!
So, if you’re planning a visit to Disney’s Animal Kingdom, don’t be alarmed to see that iconic 3D show is no longer to be found on the park’s maps.
We’ll look forward to seeing what comes next, as we’re sure the space won’t stay uninhabited for long!
