WATCH: Lightning Strikes Twice in New ‘Freakier Friday’ Trailer
22 years after Freaky Friday hit theaters, Anna and Tess Coleman will return when Freakier Friday is released later this year.
Starring Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis, the long-awaited sequel to 2003’s Freaky Friday will debut in theaters on August 8.
Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray, Christina Vidal Mitchell, Haley Hudson, Lucille Soong, Stephen Tobolosky, and Rosalind Chao will reprise their roles from the original film. Julia Butters, Manny Jacinto, Maitreyi Ramakrishnan, and Sophia Hammons will join them for the new adventure.

According to Disney, Freakier Friday will pick up “years after Tess (Curtis) and Anna (Lohan) endured an identity crisis. Anna now has a daughter of her own and a soon-to-be stepdaughter. As they navigate the myriad challenges that come when two families merge, Tess and Anna discover that lightning might indeed strike twice.”

The First ‘Freakier Friday’ Trailer Has Arrived!
Ahead of Freakier Friday’s debut in theaters, Disney has released the first trailer for the upcoming film.
The clip begins with Tess and Anna getting a palm reading done.

“You’re lifelines, it’s like they’ve intersected before,” the reader notes. “You learned a lesson. A lesson that may serve you again.”
As the new trailer reveals, it is not just Tess and Anna who switch bodies this time. Anna’s daughter and step-daughter also get mixed up in the madness.
