PHOTOS: The Bat House Has Reopened in Disney’s Animal Kingdom
Anyone who has ever visited Disney’s Animal Kingdom knows that despite the immersive environments, awesome attractions, and world-class cuisine, the real stars of the park are the animals.
Between Kilimanjaro Safaris, the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail, and the Maharajah Jungle Trek, Animal Kingdom offers guests the opportunity to see some of the most amazing creatures from around the world.
Since the arrival of baby Bakso, the Maharajah Jungle Trek has been particularly popular. Unfortunately, guests visiting the attraction over the last month have been unable to experience the bat exhibit, which has been closed for refurbishment.
Now, however, I am happy to report that our long national nightmare is over and the bats have returned to the Maharajah Jungle Trek.
The Latest From Disney’s Animal Kingdom
When visiting Disney’s Animal Kingdom this morning, we headed to Asia to catch up with some furry friends.
While on the Maharajah Jungle Trek, we were thrilled to see that the bat exhibit is once again open!
As you can see, the bat house looks largely unchanged.
Guests can learn more about the bats through the information posted throughout the room.
For those who may be adverse to the bats, you still have the opportunity to skip the exhibit if you so choose.
Those who enjoy seeing the animals up close will be thrilled that the colony has returned.
As you can see, the bats are once again hanging around.
Here is another look.
In total, the Maharajah Jungle Trek is home to over 30 bats of the Rodrigues Fruit and Malayan Flying Fox species!
So, next time you visit Disney’s Animal Kingdom, make sure you stop by and check them out!
