PHOTOS: New Woody’s Lunch Box Shade Structure Is Nearing Completion in Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Since Toy Story Land welcomed its first guests on June 20, 2018, it has become one of the most popular stops at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.

Home to the fan-favorite Slinky Dog Dash and Toy Story Mania attractions, guests have been enamored with the theming, entertainment, and atmosphere that Toy Story Land creates.

If there has been one complaint about the land, however, it is that there is a distinct lack of shade. Visiting Toy Story Land during the Florida summer can be a tough proposition.

Woody’s Lunch Box Construction Continues

To meet guest needs, Disney has added numerous shade structures to Toy Story Land over the years, especially at Woody’s Lunch Box.

Since its debut, Woody’s Lunch Box at Disney’s Hollywood Studios has been a popular restaurant for guests of all ages. However, much like the rest of Toy Story Land, the quick-service spot has long struggled with a shortage of shade.

To rectify this, Disney demolished part of the eatery’s patio last year and began constructing new outdoor seating.

The last time we checked in on the project, a new structure had begun to emerge outside of Woody’s Lunch Box.

Built out of K’NEX and LEGO and overseen by Green Army Men, the structure looked like it would eventually provide shade for guests baking in the Toy Story Land sun.

The Structure Is Almost Complete

When we visited Hollywood Studios today, we were thrilled to see that significant progress had been made on the structure and that a roof had been installed!

As you can see, the structure’s covers are designed to look like LEGOS.

The Green Army Men remain in place.

It should also be noted that large lights have been strung atop the structure.

This will look really cool at night!

Between the new structure and the umbrellas that we previously saw debut in Toy Story Land, it looks like Disney is covering their bases.

Hopefully, the work will soon be complete, and guests can enjoy the area again.
