PHOTOS: The Final ‘Voyage of the Little Mermaid’ Sign Has Been Removed
If you have been reading along here at MickeyBlog, you know that we have been closely following the development of The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure at Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
Originally announced in December 2023, the new Little Mermaid show will use new set pieces, advanced puppets, and cutting-edge special effects to tell Ariel’s story in an exciting new way.

Although the new Little Mermaid show was initially expected to open in 2024, Disney announced last October that the attraction would not be ready until the summer of 2025.
We are getting close!
Disney Has Been Removing the ‘Voyage of the Little Mermaid’ Decor
While fans have every reason to be excited for the debut of The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure, the new show did spell the end for a classic Hollywood Studios attraction.

“The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure’ Construction in Disney’s Hollywood Studios
For 28 years, guests visiting the park were enthralled and entertained by Voyage of the Little Mermaid, a Broadway-style retelling of Disney’s The Little Mermaid that cultivated generations of fans with its storytelling and charm.
After nearly three decades of operation, Voyage of the Little Mermaid closed due to the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic and would never reopen.
Over the past several months, we have seen the attraction’s iconic marquee disassembled as Hollywood Studios prepares to welcome The Little Mermaid — A Musical Adventure.
The last time we checked in, however, one of the attraction’s large signs was still in place. Now, that has changed.
A Look at the Current State of the Theater
When visiting Hollywood Studios today, we noticed that the Voyage of the Little Mermaid theater is now bare.
With The Little Mermaid—A Musical Adventure set to open this summer, new signage should soon be installed.
Some of the only remnants remaining of Voyage of the Little Mermaid are the Ariel posters in the attraction’s queue.
Additionally, the fish remain embedded in the shrubs out front.
It is unclear at this time whether Disney will repurpose these props or remove them.
