Meet the Disney Cast Member Whose Dreams Took Her From Puerto Rico to Tomorrowland
While Walt Disney World is often the backdrop for our cherished memories, for the dedicated Cast Members who work there, the Most Magical Place on Earth becomes something more—it becomes home.
That is certainly true for Carolina, a Disney College Program participant from Puerto Rico.

Knowing that she wanted to set out on her own adventure and experience more of the world, Carolina applied for a place in the Disney College Program. Little did she know that she was about to embark on the journey of a lifetime.
Working at Walt Disney World
After being accepted to the College Program, Carolina was assigned to the Tomorrowland Speedway in Magic Kingdom. It was a full circle moment for the Cast Member, as the attraction had been one of her favorites growing up.
“I called my mom immediately,” Carolina recalled. “For me to have the opportunity to work there was a full circle moment. It was truly a dream come true.”

In her position at the Speedway, Carolina provides safety instruction, manages the Lightning Lane, and helps guests with questions. However, her favorite part of the job is seeing you drivers finally get behind the wheel.
“Seeing little ones take the wheel for the first time is priceless,” she said.
Making Memories
In a particularly magical moment, Carolina helped a mother figure out how her kids could ride the Speedway.

“She started crying tears of joy,” Carolina remembered. “When she came back to thank us, I could see how much it meant to her. Seeing parents so proud of their kids was absolutely beautiful.”
The Benefits of Joining the Disney College Program
In addition to creating magical moments, the Disney College Program has allowed Carolina to work with Cast Members from all over the world and hone her professional skills.

“I developed patience and cultural awareness and learned how to quickly adapt to different situations,” she said. “Being part of something bigger than myself was truly rewarding.”
When asked what advice she would give to those considering the College Program, Carolina encouraged them to take the leap.
“There are so many opportunities here,” she said. “You’ll learn so much about yourself. Don’t be afraid to do things alone. Explore the parks, enjoy every moment and take advantage of the learning sessions the program offers. The Cast Members who teach them are amazing, and you’ll make incredible friends along the way.”
