“In the heart of a dark forest, the lovely young princess Snow White seeks sanctuary in a quaint cottage belonging to seven dwarfs, escaping the wrath of her envious stepmother, the wicked Queen,” the film’s synopsis reads.
Gal Gadot Plays the Evil Queen
Ahead of her debut as the Evil Queen, Gal Gadot sat down for an interview with D23 to discuss playing the iconic character.
“Sometimes I pinch myself and I can’t believe I got to do all these amazing and iconic things with the character that I play. It was just a lot of fun,” she said.

Looking at behind-the-scenes photos, Gadot remained awestruck.
“I am watching myself in the mirror, which we do not see [here]. I’m wearing one of the beautiful dresses Sandy Powell designed. I remember every time I went to the mirror to say the line, ‘Magic mirror on the wall,'” she explained.

“There’s something so powerful and humbling about it. There’s something so great about playing a character that is bigger than life.”
Transforming into the Old Hag
In addition to playing the regal version of the Evil Queen, Gadot was tasked with transforming into the Old Hag.

“It was so much fun to be able to completely transform and be completely unrecognizable and as far as one could be from the Evil Queen,” she said.
The final Snow White photo presented to Gadot showed the actress posing alongside director Marc Webb and producer Marc Platt.

“It’s so great when you get to work with people who love what they get to do and are simply such wonderful people,” Gadot mused. “I got very lucky with the Marcs. I really enjoyed working with them.”
