The Grand Californian Hotel’s Special Disney California Adventure Entrance Is CLOSED!
Why do you choose to stay at a Disneyland Resort Hotel? Aside from being able to stay within the Disney “bubble,” proximity to the parks, early park entry, and special park entrances are the major reasons guests choose to stay at these hotels.

Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa is the most expensive of the hotels, which is why it makes sense for its exclusive entrance to take guests directly from the hotel into Disney California Adventure (DCA). However, that major perk won’t be available for a few months.

Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa has two special entrances–one takes you into Downtown Disney, specifically popping you out between Disney Wonderful World of Sweets and Sephora. This is the entrance hotel guests must use to access Disneyland. They get there by walking through Downtown Disney and right up to the Disneyland Resort Esplanade. (Guests can access both Disneyland and DCA from the Esplanade.)

The other entrance–the more exclusive entrance–takes guests into DCA, popping them out near Grizzly River Run. (During Early Entry, only resort hotel guests may use this entrance.) The entrance’s easy and short transition from the hotel to the park–and vice versa–is why it’s such a beloved perk among hotel guests. However, the DCA entrance will be closed through mid-May so the turnstiles can be upgraded.

During the closure, hotel guests can take a short walk to Pixar Place Hotel’s entrance, which places guests in DCA, near Corn Dog Castle. To access that entrance, Grand Californian Hotel guests must exit out the front gate of the hotel and follow the signs directing them to Pixar Place Hotel’s entrance.

Guests can also access DCA by using the Grand Californian Hotel’s Downtown Disney entrance, walking over to the Esplanade, and entering DCA through the regular front gate.
