Hong Kong Disney Warehouse Employee Accused of Stealing $380,000 Worth of Equipment
A Hong Kong Disney warehouse worker is accused of stealing more than HK$3 million ($386,114.07) worth of electronic equipment.
According to the Dimsum Daily, an investigation began after Disney employee alerted the police about the disappearance of multiple items from Hong Kong Disneyland’s Lantau Island warehouse, including network switches, firewall devices, and remote controls.

The theft was uncovered on March 7, when a warehouse manager counting inventory noticed that boxes were missing. The 10,000 sqft warehouse was locked and monitored by CCTV. According to reports, there were no signs of a breach.
The Suspect Was Arrested Yesterday
CCTV footage revealed a vehicle registered to a warehouse employee made multiple trips to the facility between March 1 and March 7.
Yesterday, the suspect was arrested in Tai Po. Investigators then learned that he had sold the equipment to a recycling shop in Sham Shui Po for HK$300,000 ($36,000). In total, the employee is accused of stealing 18 boxes of equipment.

Authorities recovered five boxes of stolen items from the recycling center. The shop owner and an employee were arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods. Three other boxes had already been sold by the facility.
Disney is Cooperating With Authorities
Hong Kong Disneyland is fully cooperating with the New Territories South Regional Crime Unit, which is now handling the case.
